I need to learn to update...sometime.
Oct. 27th, 2005 05:35 pmIt seems as though it's been a while since my last update, but seriously not too much has been going on in my life. Well...nothing exciting anyway.
This week I've been pinched by the class pet (a hermit crab) and yeah I still want one well two because they like to be in pairs (this was on Monday). I had a meeting at 9:30am on Tuesday about working with children who have special needs. I did happen to find that meeting interesting and believe that, in the long run, it will give me a slight edge over regular education teachers. (Well if I were to work at the school I'm currently at it would give me an edge.) I had class on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
English - It is very true that each quarter (or semester) you will have that one professor who you just can't stand. Well my english professor is the one for this quarter. She speaks too softly and treats this class like we're high school students. But I simply take notes and pay some attention. So far...I hold a 90 in the class and that's not counting the extra credit I've done.
Sociology - I adore this professor and I've realized that sociology is so much more than a black/white issue related class. That's how it was taught to me in high school, then again look where I went and who my teacher was then and you get the end product. Let me say that this class is really starting to open my mind further and actually take things into consideration that I wouldn't have thought about before. Now if I could just find a damned subject to do my "Sociological Research Paper" on. We've had nothing to turn in for a grade here, so I don't know where I stand just yet.
Effective Speaking - My professor for this class was once an anchor for channel 8 here. He's not old, but he makes a seemingly boring class actually interesting. Of course I'm sitting there taking thorough notes and sometimes I surprise myself at what all I retain from the class itself. I'm currently holding a 95 in this class.
In all honestly I would love to stay on the Dean's List. So that means I need to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA. I can do it, but in all honesty, I constantly worry about passing the classes with the minimum grade. That's just me though.
Tomorrow at work there will be a "Fall Celebration" aka a halloween party. Seeing as though "Halloween" is associated with "evil" the schools start calling Halloween parties "fall celebrations". All I know is that tomorrow will be a long day for me...but it will be fun too.
Well, I honestly think that this just about covers all. I need to run to the library, and then go to walmart, and then to top it all off, I need to bake cookies for the class tomorrow.
